Once Upon a Garden

Today was the day my mom and I set aside our many doubts and built our first ever raised garden. It was an event that took up the majority of our day and in the end we had the dirt under our nails to show it. We purchased all of our plants from Cooley's Greenhouse which is one of the cutest greenhouses I have ever stepped foot in and we literally dug right in. We first built the garden's structure (with power tools) and then we carried the 50lb bags of topsoil and peat from the garage giving ourselves an unconscious workout. With my one day off for the week I can't imagine spending my time doing anything else. Building this garden with  my mom was at the top of my summer to-do list and I look forward to tending it with her all summer long.
