The perks of being alone

Today my parents saved me from a weekend of solitude and starvation, giving me a wonderful and relaxing Saturday afternoon. They took me to Payne's where I was able to experience fine European dining for the last time and I revisited the Unorganized bookstore, picking up David Copperfield by Charles Dickens and a Bobby Brown makeup book. They were so concerned they even brought me food for the next few days I have left here and took most of my things home. My mom's reaction to my overflowing drawers and closet was a priceless one and it reminded me that I may have more then I truly need. "You can never be over prepared," I always say. Once they departed, I began realizing all of the things you can do when you are alone on your campus.

1. Clothes become an optional necessity in the dorm.
2.  The unchained bikes are begging for a joy ride around campus.
3. There is no volume limit when playing your music.
4. Work often becomes a solo dance party.
5. You make a new best friend- you!
6. Every study room in the library is open and awaiting your arrival.
7. Laying out on the roof is a definite possibility.
8. You have time to look at all the projects you want to do this summer.

I'm excited to attempt to create crafty goods and cook fancy dishes. My mom and I are constructing a raised organic garden next week, she has her doubts but I just know we can do it! How hard can it be? Having fresh veggies and herbs to tend to will make this summer an even sweeter one :)
