Motivation number one: There are exactly 22 days left of my freshman year of college. I can barely remember the beginning of this semester let alone last semester, high five to that! Motivation number two: The weather is actually bearable today, my favorite room in the library is filled with sunshine instead of the reflection of the sun from the snow covering the ground. Motivation number three: I get to go home this weekend and have an actual meal, one not prepared from Gordon's Foods Service. Motivation number four: Andrea and I gave our Igor Stravinsky presentation today and it was actually painless! I didn't freeze up and spew nonsense for the first time in my life. These past five days, my mind has been consumed with this man's story and musical styles and compositions. In case you wanted to know, Stravinsky was a Russian cosmopolitan who had an affair with Coco Chanel, basically he was a musical genius and he had an excellent taste in fashion, which I probably admired most. Motivation number four: The Fleet Foxes album is released in less than one month! The Helplessness Blues single is incredible, I've been listening to it everyday for weeks now. My final motivation for the day: Omelets tonight in Baldwin and free Moe's burritos tomorrow due to my indecisiveness prior to enrollment. "Predeclared students" (a nice way of saying undecided) get free burritos for not having a major. The only way I am able to justify this kind act is the fact that the department pities us. Our "life callings" will find us someday, we promise!

The library, home sweet home |
Basically this post proves how lame my college life is, which is um... super lame. But nonetheless, I love what I do and will love it even more when I am doing it somewhere else. As diminutive as these motivations may be, it's all about what gets you through the day, week, month, or even year. What motivates you? xoxo liz
