This past week sure had it's ups and downs as I endured my first full week juggling two jobs. Panera is a job I can't handle for more than five hours at a time and when I work those eight hour shifts, I tend to stretch myself pretty thin. From heading in to Panera for my first five hour shift and driving straight to Anthropologie for my second, you can only imagine my dire need of a pick-me-up and my weakness for buying everything that sparks my interest. (In my defense, Anthro gave all employees an extra 40% off the sale items.) And it's not like I hate working at Panera, my coworkers are pretty funny when they aren't severely damaging my pride. It's hard for me to complain because it pays the bills and I do have some fun at it. When I explained that my second job is at Anthropologie, they thought I said Archaeology and asked me how I liked dusting for bones. I can't say that wasn't a good moment. And I of course love working at Anthropologie! But I knew the minute I was hired that I would because how can you not enjoy working at the happiest place on earth? My hard week led to an amazing weekend full of adventures with Chad in the Big Apple... I wonder what Columbus is called in terms of fruit? We flocked downtown where I bought a great car magnet, "Kindness Matters," and we explored the many rooms of
Flower Child which was full of antiques and 70s style clothing.
Today we hiked through Highbanks and enjoyed the third sunny day in a row here in Columbus, the last for awhile I am afraid. My favorite part of the day was driving down 270 with the windows down and jamming to our favorite summer tunes.
To celebrate my winnings of our family Final Four March Madness bracket competition, we finally went out to my choice of restaurant, The Mellow Mushroom. The place was a madhouse but the pizza was incredibly delicious! If you know me my mind is always about the food and I won't be keeping my mind off the pizza I consumed tonight for a very long time. And then God smiled down on me with a brilliant rainbow, completing the best weekend of my life with a little dash of color and a few drops of cool rain. Next weekend is Memorial Day and soon June will be upon us. I am looking forward to the many memories I will make this summer, let the memories be had and the fun begin!
